Simple Digital Solution for Booking Days in a Vacation Home

A user on Reddit’s r/cabins forum asks,

“I’ve been looking for a very simple web-app where there’s a calendar, you can book times, and you can see who has booked what times. We have a shared cabin and just want a very simple interface for seeing and booking time. I feel like this is a very generic and simple usecase, but all I’ve found has been trash solutions like google calendar, Checkfront, Teamup, excel etc. etc. Though you probably could use a solution like these, they are extremely cumbersome for such a simple use case.”

This is precisely why I created OurSharedPlace.com.

It includes a simple booking system, as well as a property blog, photo gallery, and contacts manager. It’s like a special-purpose Google Calendar plus private WordPress for your vacation home. It allows you to keep whatever you’d like private, to just a few people.

OurSharedPlace makes home management easy

I created OurSharedPlace because I wanted an easy way to manage booking requests among co-owners of our vacation home. It’s built around a simple roles-based system: there are Admins, Members, Guests and the Public.

Members can request booking times on the calendar, and only admins can approve or deny them. Admins can set the total number of requested days for each Member. Of course, you can decide to rotate who gets to be admin at any given time.

There’s a shared content management system (blog) as well, where Admins and Members can create articles on how to maintain the home, including photos and video.

There’s also an expense tracker, letting you track the finances of the property, and allocate costs fairly among members.

It costs just $79 per property per year, which supports an unlimited number of users.

Visit https://oursharedplace.com if you’d like to give it a try.
