Shared Vacation Home Calendar App on iPhone

OurSharedPlace is now available on iOS!

If you’re a vacation homeowner, especially if you co-own the property with others, you’re definitely going to find this handy.

The new iPhone app lets you share a common calendar, handle inbound booking requests (from your optional public booking webpage), share how-to articles, interact on a message board, share a common photo library, contacts and more. You can even track expenses and split payment.

I created OurSharedPlace because I wanted a simple way to coordinate usage of a second home. No more back-and-forth on “who’s using the home when?”, no more searching for how-to guides. It’s all in one place, available on the web and now, on your iPhone.

OurSharedPlace lets you designate permission levels. Admins can review and approve bookings. Members can see the calendar, request bookings, access articles, contacts, etc. As an admin, you can even invite guests to use the app via an invite-code process, so they can see arrival/departure checklists, hikes or restaurants in the area, or other things you might want to share with your guests. (You set the desired visibility of each article or object in the system.)

As for price, it’s a per-property-pricing model, where each property is $99 per year (or $129/year if purchased via the App Store.) You only need one payment per property; the admin who sets up the property can invite an unlimited number of members, guests or other admins to that property at no extra cost.
